Season’s Greetings! We would like to thank our clients, friends and family for the friendship and memories shared over the past 35 years of helping people as an attorney.

Many individuals have not taken the time to have a Will or Power of Attorney prepared or have not updated these documents in decades.  Please accept an invitation for you and your guests to join us at the annual Update -Wills and Estate Planning” Seminar on January 11, 2023 from 12:15-1:00 pm in our law office.

We want to update you on our new more efficient procedures for preparing Wills, Power of Attorney and Living Wills. We now can prepare Wills online without clients having to come to the office! You simply type information on the interview form and return by email eliminating the need to miss work or travel to the office. The Law Office also handles Municipal Court cases via Zoom or online.

2023 was a good year.  My daughter Shannon was married on May 7, 2022 to Zach Gildenberg, a Financial Advisor. They purchased a house with a pool in Hillsborough. My son Dr. Brendan bought a house, boat and pool on the Intercoastal in Myrtle Beach. Proudly, Brendan was recently inducted into the South Brunswick H.S. Hall of Fame as an athlete in Soccer, Wrestling, Track & Field. He is the only South Brunswick athlete to be a County Champ in 3 different sports. Our amazing Lexi dog continues to greet clients in the office and show her tricks.[Lexi is the darker Yellow lab in photo, Daisy dog the lighter lab is my daughter's dog] My wife Cynthia now handles the law office finances. My Dad Al celebrated his 90th birthday with many friends both he and Carol made in Jackson.

After living in South Brunswick for the past 25 years we sold our house. Delete the South Brunswick address and mail anything to Edison. We anticipate buying something with a view of water in the future with the law office staying in Edison.

2. Birthday or Holiday Gift Idea! .....Gift Certificates for Wills & Power of Attorney

4   Joint Assets or POD do not pass under a Will

Please also remember that if you have assets such as bank accounts in joint names, or bank accounts payable upon death, these go directly to the beneficiary. If you have selected direct beneficiaries on any of your assets these pass outside your Will, including POD accounts or joint accounts. Your Will cannot change who the beneficiary is on a joint account, payable upon death accounts, or other assets such as Life Insurance policies. You would have to go directly to the bank or company where the assets are held and either direct that they change the beneficiary or not list any beneficiary at all other than your Estate.

A house owned by Husband & Wife will go to the surviving spouse, unless the Deed states otherwise.

If you have minor children, you should Not name children as direct beneficiary on life insurance and accounts. They would receive those assets without supervision at age 18. Instead, make the beneficiary “MY ESTATE”, so a Trustee can supervise where children’s money is spent.
