1. Fly the Flag on 9/11
On September 11th, an American flag should be displayed outside every jacket, car, home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on the anniversary of one our country's worst tragedies. We have extra flags in our office reception area. If you forward this post to at least 11 people and each of those people does the same, you get the idea.
Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.
Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.
Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.
2. Recent Cases: Trial Court Decision Reversed Where Testimony not Taken in Open Court State v Parker 459 NJ Super. 26 App. Div. 2019)
Defendant was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun and related charges. The trial court granted defendant's motion to suppress the physical evidence without conducting an evidentiary hearing or considering oral argument from counsel. This court granted the State's motion for leave to appeal and now reverses the trial court's ruling. Pursuant to Rule 3:5-7(c), "[if material facts are disputed, testimony thereon shall be taken in open court." When the material facts are contested, the parties must be given the opportunity to probe the veracity of the State's witnesses.

3. Stalking Statute Constitutional State v B.A. 458 NJ Super. 391 (App. Div. 2019)
Defendant was convicted of third degree stalking and he appealed. The court affirms the constitutionality of the anti-stalking statute as it was amended in 2009, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-10, holding that it is not facially overbroad nor unconstitutionally broad or vague as applied to defendant. The court rejects defendant's other claims that he was deprived of a fair trial.
4. No Weekend Jail for Criminal DWS State v. Rodriguez 238 NJ 105 (2019)
An individual sentenced to a fixed minimum term of parole ineligibility under N.J.S.A. 2C:40-26(c) may not serve his or her sentence intermittently at night or on weekends pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:43-2(b)(7).
